We all face in the same direction.’ ‘I started as a BEA WebLogic specialist and Enterprise Java architect and have recently been working more as a Enterprise Java middleware architect in the Middleware Integration Team. This team is responsible for implementing BEA Weblogic J2EE application servers and WebSphere MQ-based middleware. Because the environments at customers’ are always different, you work on very challenging projects at Xebia. And with very highly motivated and experiences colleagues. Every two weeks, we share knowledge with each other at the Xebia Knowledge Exchange meetings, but we also have regular technical discussions by e-mail.’ 'At the moment, I’m working on a project for the UWV in which we’re enabling effective processing of the data flow of salary returns from the Inland Revenue to the UWV. In the short time that I’ve been working for Xebia, I’ve learned a number of new techniques and acquired detailed knowledge of techniques that I was already familiar with. Acquiring new knowledge is one of the things that make it so nice to work at Xebia Software Development. For instance, once a month we have the ‘TechRally’ where we examine a particular subject in depth under the guidance of an expert. But neither can we complain about a lack of outings and activities.’ ‘Last year I concentrated mostly on increasing my knowledge of Hibernate. I was able to actively use this knowledge immediately in the project at the UWV where an application had to be developed for checking wage declarations. What is attractive about Xebia SD is the youth and dynamism of its employees, based on a genuine interest in the job and in the latest developments. This interest leads to the sharing of a lot of information and sometimes discussions can get quite heated. It’s fun to spar and find the best, more elegant and most creative solution.'
