Wilco Koorn

Wilco Koorn joined Xebia on July 1, 2006 as a Senior Consultant for the unit IT Architects.

Wilco is a passionate consultant, he always puts the customer’s interest first. He has been technical lead for the new services platform for TomTom and the primary technical contact for automating all application deployments for KLM/Air France. He is used to working in technically complex environments where he focuses on technology, but always with efficiency for the organization in mind.

Wilco started programming in the punch card days and holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Amsterdam. He has been trained in several project management, software development, and process improvement methodologies such as Scrum, EVO, XP, CMM and RUP. He is an expert in WebSphere as well as WebLogic middleware systems.

Wilco is a Certified ScrumMaster and a Scrum addict. Making a team of developers work in a more efficient way is one of his driving motivational factors. He is an occasional speaker at Agile conferences.

Before joining Xebia, Wilco worked for several large IT companies. He is fluent in Dutch and English, and speaks passable German. Wilco lives in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, with his wife, Lucia Dannenburg.
